Andy and Pranee Laurillard

Pranee started her first Thai restaurant in the Lanes in 2002, opened Giggling Squid in Hove a few years later
and then persuaded her husband to leave corporate life and join her running the family business. Since then the Giggling Squid has grown. There are now 21 Giggling Squids employing around 400 people across 13 counties. having completed its first private equity funding round in 2015, Giggling Squid is measured by many as the largest Thai restaurant brand in the UK.

How Andy and Pranee embrace the unknown

“After 21 sleepless nights everytime we open a new restaurant (Will this one be different! Will they like us?) we’ve learned to trust our ability to deal with the unexpected.”
